Appraiser (Right of Way)
Duties will include timely and accurate preparation and review of all real estate appraisals used in the disposal and/or purchase of easements, grading permits and fee acquisitions including federally funded projects. Frequent and collaborative contact with local community and county officials, real estate brokers, attorneys, and property owners, requiring significant and demonstrated negotiating skill. May be periodically required to represent the RCOC in court proceedings requiring expertise and concise communication skill. Ability to effectively balance in-the-office and in-the-field job functions in a collaborative and deadline sensitive fashion. Position requires local daily travel.
Qualifications: A certified general appraiser license from the Michigan Board of Real Estate Appraisers is required. Also requires specialized or technical training which may be obtained in the first two or three years of college or business school. A minimum of five years of experience as a real estate appraiser with knowledge in federal funded public works projects is also required: Valid Driver's License and eligibility to work in the U.S.
Salary: 51,455.00 to 56, 086.00

Excellent verbal and written communication skills required. Excellent PC skills, with proficiency in Microsoft products required. Strong attention to detail, with the ability to proof work for accuracy. Effective analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to coordinate effectively and with other personnel, corporate departments and external customers required. Ability to prioritize, and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently, managing time and scheduling to meet appropriate deadlines. Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
